Our House Talks Online are to inspire General Counsels, Heads of Legal and Legal counsels to work on Innovation and Impact in Legal. This House Talk Online is all about: ‘The vision of B Lab on our future economy’.

There are currently many changes for companies in the field of making an impact and operating sustainably. How do you ensure that you, as General Counsel or Head of Legal, remain inspired and know what is possible with the company you work for in the field of making an impact? What do the current changes mean for the day-to-day operations of your legal department?

That is why we are organizing our next House Talk Online on Friday October 4 from 11-12 pm with Tessa van Soest, Executive Director for the Benelux Chapter office at B Lab, as speaker. B Lab is an international non-profit organization that strives to contribute to an inclusive, just and regenerative economic system that serves all people and the planet. One of B Lab’s core activities is supporting companies in a holistic change to become more sustainable by certifying companies as B Corps.

Before joining B Lab, Tessa has built a long career in sustainability and consultancy. And since 2021, she also supports the Rights of Nature movement and co-authored the Nyenrode Business University research report ‘Granting Rights of Nature to the Wadden Sea?’. She holds (advisory) positions in boards, including at Stand Up For Your Rights Foundation, where she promotes human rights for a clean and healthy environment.

In this House Talk Online, Tessa will take us through B Lab’s vision of our future economy, what it means to become a B Corp and how does that work? She will also talk about ‘Futureproof governance: embedding nature as a stakeholder in business’. In short, Tessa’s House Talk guarantees an interesting and educational session!
